Job summary

HED is seeking an Architectural Designer IV for our PreK-12 Education practice in San Francisco and Sacramento. You will lead project scopes from early design through construction under supervision, mentoring junior staff and ensuring adherence to DSA requirements.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of technical delivery experience, Revit proficiency, and a strong background in PreK-12 facilities. We offer a collaborative, hybrid environment and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience with a technical delivery focus.
• Experience with PreK-12 and DSA required.
• Proficiency in Revit and 3-D coordination tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and technical design for PreK-12 projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Coordinate across design and engineering disciplines, consultants, and production teams.
• Manage AHJ permitting and regulatory review processes with senior leadership support as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and support professional development within project teams.
• Serve as Architect of Record and sign/seal documents prepared under supervision when required.
