Job summary

HED is seeking a passionate Architectural Designer to join our growing PreK–12 Education practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, or Los Angeles offices. This early-career role assists project teams from early design through construction under supervision, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and work across market sectors.

Ideal candidates possess a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, at least three years of A/E experience, and proficiency in Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Architecture (4-year) degree required.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in A/E industry required.
• Proficiency in Revit is required.
• LEED Accredited or other sustainability credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Architect to ensure design and technical quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and other consultants using Revizto.
• Support delivery of professional services as defined by the HED Design Process guidelines.
• Assist Project Architect with directing staff and developing project delivery strategies.
• Understand design intent and communicate it through documentation with limited direction.
• Assist with code research for project assignments.
• Assist with material and product research for project development.
• Participate in project meetings as required by scope and schedule.
• Coordinate with project team disciplines as needed.
• Perform submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
• Manage technical reviews in Revizto through all project phases to meet standards.
• Contribute to development of discipline work plans.
