Job summary

The Beck Group in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead the preconstruction process on complex projects up to $50M. You will direct teams, develop estimates from schematic through construction documents, and ensure alignment with client goals and project budgets.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of preconstruction or related field experience, proficiency with Destini Estimator, BIM, Procore, Revit, and a collaborative leadership style to drive value across design

Qualifications

• 8+ years minimum of Preconstruction or related field experience with commercial general contractor or major subcontractor.
• Experience using 3D models for Preconstruction.
• College graduate with relevant degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
• Design/Build experience is a plus.
• Proven track record of leading projects from award through buyout.
• Knowledge of local market construction practices, means, methods, and buy-out strategies.
• Ability to develop conceptual and programmatic estimates quickly from minimal information.
• Advanced skills in Destini Estimator, Onscreen Takeoff, BIM and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide estimates from schematic design documents through construction documents.
• Draft large trade subcontractor scopes of work, negotiate with subcontractors, and buy scopes.
• Manage scope and cost to the project budget.
• Coordinate with Operations personnel for logistics, schedule, and staffing.
• Develop trust with clients and project teammates.
• Create General Conditions and Construction Requirements cost estimates as needed.
• Train and mentor Preconstruction Team members.
• Engage with Business Development to pursue new work and client relationships.
• Identify new leads and lead pursuit efforts when appropriate.
• Participate in local community through professional organizations and outside committees.
