Job summary

MPI is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for a premier Charleston design-build GC. You will assess feasibility, budget, risk, bids, compliance and client relations in a collaborative, stable environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in preconstruction/estimating, strong PM software skills, and leadership ability. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000+ with health/dental/vision, retirement and PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required.
• Proven experience as a Precon Manager or Estimator in commercial construction
• Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and make sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Project Assessment: Evaluate project feasibility and requirements.
• Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Identify and address potential project risks.
• Bid Process: Coordinate bidding, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and permits.
• Documentation: Maintain organized project documentation and reports.
• Lead and mentor preconstruction team.
• Client Relations: Build positive client relationships.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate innovative solutions.
