Job summary

Evermont Group is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager for its Allen, TX office to lead estimating, budgeting and value‑engineering for ground‑up multifamily projects. You will collaborate with ownership and operations to shape a scalable preconstruction function and drive cost efficiencies.

You will mentor junior estimators, manage bid packages, and coordinate with design, development and trade partners to reduce risk and ensure on‑time, on‑budget project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven preconstruction or estimating experience with a general contractor, developer or developer-builder.
  • Strong background in ground-up multifamily or comparable commercial construction.
  • Wood-frame multifamily experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing budgets, managing bids and leading value‑engineering exercises.
  • Strong understanding of project costs, subcontractor scopes and trade markets.
  • Confident working with ownership, developers, designers, operations teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong Excel skills and a practical, commercially focused approach to estimating.
  • Collaborative, low‑ego leadership style with the willingness to remain close to the detail.
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where processes are still evolving.
  • Experience mentoring estimators or helping build a preconstruction team is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preconstruction and estimating activities from early feasibility through handover to operations
  • Develop conceptual estimates, detailed budgets and cost plans for ground-up multifamily projects
  • Manage bid packages, subcontractor outreach, scope reviews, bid leveling and award recommendations
  • Lead value engineering, constructability reviews and design coordination
  • Support both the established development arm and the growing general contracting operation
  • Work closely with ownership, development, design, operations and trade partners
  • Identify cost, design and construction risks early and drive practical solutions
  • Improve estimating tools, cost data and preconstruction processes
  • Hire, develop and mentor junior estimators as the team expands
  • Help establish the systems and operating practices required to support continued growth

Senior Preconstruction Manager – Multifamily Development & Construction

Up to $150,000 + Bonus

Growing Development and General Contracting Platform

We are partnering with a fast-growing, family-owned real estate development and construction company to hire a Senior Preconstruction Manager for its Allen office.

The company develops and builds residential and multifamily projects across North Texas, including wood-frame developments valued at up to approximately $50 million.

The business has an established development operation, a strong project pipeline and is currently building out its general contracting arm. This is an opportunity to join during an important stage of growth, strengthen the preconstruction function and help build a team around you.

The Role
  • Report directly to the Director of Preconstruction and work within a collaborative, hands-on team
  • Lead preconstruction and estimating activities from early feasibility through handover to operations
