Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Preconstruction Manager in the United States to lead high-level preconstruction efforts across multiple business units. You will guide design-build pursuits, develop scopes, prepare proposals, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with executives to win projects nationwide.

The role requires 5–10 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, strong knowledge of trade practices, and travel as projects span across the country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field required.
• 5–10 years of estimating experience in commercial construction across multiple market sectors.
• Deep knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices; familiarity with estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead project pursuit efforts with business unit leaders and project executives.
• Develop specific project scopes and prepare compelling proposals.
• Create conceptual estimates and develop scopes of work for each trade; review with subs.
• Present final estimates to clients/owners, communicating project value.
• Review schedules and documents for value engineering opportunities and pricing.
