Job summary

Brinkman Construction is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead the preconstruction team and oversee estimating for multiple large projects. The role focuses on delivering accurate estimates, strong client relations, and proactive value engineering across diverse market segments.

You will manage bid packages, coordinate with owners and subcontractors, and mentor the team to ensure timely, cost-effective project pursuits from design through GMP/hard bid delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, related field or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of major market segments: commercial, healthcare, municipal, higher education, industrial, advanced manufacturing.
• Familiarity with regional market, competition, and industry trends.
• Experience in supervisory roles within preconstruction with minimal oversight.
• Knowledge of design/build, design/assist, lump sum and GMP methods.
• Background in procurement, buyout processes, and scheduling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts and direct reports for projects from $10M to $100M.
• Cultivate relationships with owners, developers, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Lead RFP/RFQ responses and demonstrate value of preconstruction.
• Organize and delegate responsibilities for each pursuit with clear deadlines.
• Solicit pricing proposals from subcontractors and vendors.
• Perform value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Input and evaluate all costs during bid analysis.
• Develop and write bid packages and subcontractor scopes of work.
• Provide clients with accurate estimates and value engineering.
• Coordinate department capacity and strategic planning with other Senior Preconstruction Managers.
• Mentor and conduct monthly check-ins with direct reports.
