Job summary

SHIMIZU NORTH AMERICA LLC is seeking a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to support marketing, estimating, design managers in preparing lump-sum design/build bids and hard bids for clients.

The role focuses on establishing preconstruction project records, coordinating between departments, creating bid strategies, and guiding the estimating team. Experience in managing subcontractor procurement and risk review is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of combined field and management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up the estimate, binder, and subcontractor lists for preconstruction pursuits.
• Identify and solicit suitable subcontractors to ensure coverage.
• Coordinate between design, marketing, estimating and procurement teams.
• Lead estimation and design teams for estimates and proposals.
• Review RFPs/quotes and develop preconstruction strategies.
• Prepare preliminary project schedules considering design and procurement durations.
• Review design iterations and changes for cost impacts.
• Assist with purchasing subcontracts and purchase orders.
