Job summary

Juneau Construction Company in Miami, FL is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Engineer to support estimating efforts for large-scale commercial projects in the Southeast. You will assist the Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager, and other staff with preconstruction pursuits from lump-sum bids to GMP budgets, focusing on quantity take-offs and subcontractor solicitation.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Construction Management, 5+ years of preconstruction experience, and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

B.S. in Construction Management, or related engineering discipline.
5+ years of Preconstruction experience.
General knowledge of building practices, systems and assemblies.
Experience in hard bid and CM at Risk estimating efforts is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide preconstruction administration and technical assistance for large or multiple projects ($15M–$50M+).
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets from conceptual to GMP documents.
Review design documents and perform accurate quantity take-offs.
Identify design changes and communicate scope changes to subcontractors for pricing.
Update COB and estimate documents reflecting changes and coordinating with subcontractors.
Review project schedules and assist in preparing general conditions.
Identify and prequalify subcontractors for various pursuits.
Assist with procurement of subcontracts and purchase orders.
Lead training of other team members as directed.
