Job summary

Fleet Data Centers designs, builds, and operates mega-scale data center campuses. This role leads owner-side preconstruction for campuses, guiding projects from concept through NTP with a focus on budget, risk management, and procurement readiness.

Reporting to the VP, Construction, you will manage the Preconstruction Team, ensure alignment with cost and schedule goals, and collaborate with design, development, and Supply Chain to de-risk and hand over ready-for-construction scopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, OR equivalent practical preconstruction leadership experience.
• 15+ years of preconstruction, estimating, and/or delivery experience on large-scale, mission-critical, or hyperscale projects; 7+ years owner-side preferred.
• Demonstrated ownership of campus-level budgets, contracting strategy, and long-lead procurement across CSA and MEP/Power scopes.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a preconstruction team and partner with design, development, Supply Chain, and construction leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own Campus Preconstruction: accountability for the full preconstruction effort through NTP.
• Lead the Preconstruction Team: develop site-assigned Preconstruction Managers and balance workload across campuses.
• Set Standards & Governance: establish preconstruction standards, milestone gates, logs, and risk registers.
• Design-to-Budget Alignment: ensure design remains aligned to budget and Fleet’s resiliency requirements.
• Budget, Commercial & Procurement Strategy: manage budget progression, contracting strategy, and procurement readiness across scopes.
