Job summary

MicroVision, a leader in advanced perception solutions, is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer for precision mechanical design. You will own mechanical designs from concept through release, guiding architecture decisions and ensuring manufacturability for LiDAR products.

The role emphasizes hands‑on design, rigorous documentation, and close collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams. You will lead design efforts for precision components, perform tolerances, manage BOMs within a PLM system, and

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in precision or complex hardware products.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, drafting, and GD&T (SolidWorks).
• Demonstrated experience owning mechanical designs from concept through release.
• Knowledge of designing precision components for injection molding, machining, die casting, and MIM processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of precision mechanical components and assemblies for electro‑optical sensor systems.
• Create and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings with GD&T.
• Own BOMs, part structures, and configuration control within a PLM environment.
• Drive ECRs/ECOs and manage change with cross‑discipline impact assessments.
• Apply 8D problem solving to resolve design, manufacturing or quality issues.
• Develop DFMEAs to identify and mitigate mechanical risks.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, optical, and systems teams on requirements and interfaces.
