The County of San Diego's Registrar of Voters has a current opening for a Senior Precinct Planning Technician. Interviews will take place during the week of June 9th, 2025, with job offers issued shortly after the interviews are complete.
This vacancy is located at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa. The list created may also be used to fill future vacancies.
The ideal candidate will have experience with complex technical mapping, maintaining detailed maps and election data, thematic mapping for voting location analysis, precinct and district boundary planning, and knowledge of federal, state, and local election laws. Experience with ADA compliance for polling places is a plus.

Prospective candidates will undergo background checks (including fingerprinting) and medical screening before employment. Additional investigations may be required based on job duties. Current employees may be exempt from some screening.
Expect occasional overtime, weekend work, driving up to 125 miles daily, outdoor work in various weather conditions, and potential exposure to chemicals and pesticides. Duties may include working with a detection dog team.
Applicants will be scored and placed on a nine-month employment list based on their application and supplemental questionnaire responses, which are evaluated automatically. Qualified candidates will be reviewed individually for final selection.
