Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to perform owner and agency inspections on DOT and structural precast programs. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and maintain QC records for PCI or DOT certifications.

Responsibilities include supervising Level I inspectors, planning daily coverage, reviewing records, and ensuring products meet specifications

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification required and 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and the DOT precast specifications for your state.
• Able to hold a production line to the specification when the schedule is pushing.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets and strength records; investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
• Accept or reject finished products against the specification and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT or owner acceptance programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.
