Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant QC for precast and prestressed production, or perform owner and agency plant inspection for DOT and structural precast programs. Responsibilities include verifying prestressing operations, reviewing mix designs and strength records, and accepting or rejecting finished products.

You will maintain QC records and supervise Level I inspectors, with travel to projects as needed.

Qualifications

• PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II, current, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and the DOT precast specifications for your state.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to hold a production line to the specification when the schedule is pushing.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against the specification and the shop drawings.
• Dispositon repairs and maintain plant QC records for PCI/DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
