Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years experience in a laboratory environment or a production setting.
• Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Basic data entry and documentation skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all duties of the Pre-Analytical Assistant III; meets or exceeds productivity and quality standards for Pre-Analytical Assistant I and II tasks
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of how Specimen Processing and Tech Ops impact testing departments and result quality
• Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of all job duties and SOPs related to the Tech Ops department
• Knowledge of resources available and ability to fill in for any function within Tech Ops as necessary
• Identifies problems with specimen types vs test orders, missing information, improperly positioned bar codes
• With experience, perform basic troubleshooting and resolve problems with automated equipment operation
• Adheres to compliance policies related to test ordering and translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services
• Understands relationship between tests ordered and specimens received
• Completes required documentation clearly and on time
• Meets quality and productivity standards within 3 months of training
• Trains employees in Tech Ops job functions and may provide on-going training
• Performs result entry for TIQ/TNP resolution
• Operates within Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures
• Handles complex tasks such as Pending Review and Problem Resolution and automated equipment operation
