Job summary

Arizona State University’s School of Interdisciplinary Forensics invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Professor of Practice, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor.

Teaching load ranges from eight to six courses per year, depending on research duties, with in-person classes at ASU’s West Valley campus in Glendale, AZ, and possible online components.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) or more years of relevant professional experience for Professor of Practice or equivalent leadership roles for other tracks.
• Professor of Practice requires a bachelor’s degree in forensic science or closely related field and at least ten years of professional experience.
• Clinical Professor tracks require doctoral degree or master’s with relevant experience and teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate forensic science courses in person and online;
• Prepare syllabi, lectures, and course materials;
• Grade assignments and assessments;
• Maintain regular office hours and support student success;
• Monitor student progress and address academic issues;
• Build relationships with crime laboratories, legal professionals, and external partners;
• Contribute service to School, College, University, and profession;
• Engage in professional development and trainings;
• Foster collegiality across the organization.

Education

Earned doctorate in biology/chemistry/toxicology/biochemistry/physics/forensic science

Master’s degree in forensic science or related field with 5+ years of experience

Bachelor’s degree in forensic science or related field
