Job Title: Senior Practice Manager

Department: Ortho Musculoskeletal 7 FL

Location: Penn Medicine University City- 3737 Market St

Hours: Full Time

Summary:
  • In collaboration with leadership, the Senior Practice Manager provides strategic operational leadership and direction regarding all administrative, financial, regulatory, quality, human resources, patient/employee satisfaction, and clinical aspects for the scope including managing 15+ staff, overseeing 20,000+ annual visits, and handling practice complexity factors such as multiple locations, service lines, inpatient coordination, academic involvement, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring efficient daily practice operations including patient scheduling, billing, and services coordination.
  • Providing quality patient care and championing quality initiatives.
  • Maintaining patient/customer focus and achieving financial goals.
  • Fostering a collaborative work environment with professional ownership and accountability.
  • Reviewing work processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Serving as liaison to specialists, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Managing practice staff directly and indirectly.
Internal Relationships:
  • Regular communication with employees to improve performance and build relationships.
  • Supporting leadership in developing programs and initiatives to meet future needs.
External Relationships:
  • Building relationships with patients, families, external stakeholders, and professional associations.
General Accountabilities:
  • Understanding role contributions, ensuring a safe environment, using resources wisely, and embracing diversity.
Strategic Planning & Patient Care:
  • Supporting strategic plan development and ensuring high-quality, efficient patient care processes.
Quality & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensuring compliance with all standards and managing audits.
Change & Financial Management:
  • Leading change management initiatives and overseeing financial aspects including budgets, revenue cycle, and payer management.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Practice scheduling, supplies management, reporting, supporting research and academic activities, recruitment, performance management, staff development, organizational health, workforce planning, and other duties as needed.
Credentials:
  • Associate of Arts or Science required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years relevant experience, including 3+ years in healthcare management; degrees may substitute for experience.
