Senior PR Manager

(Atlanta, GA/hybrid-remote)

About Alloy

Alloy is an integrated marketing agency. We specialize in helping brands across the full funnel, from designing and developing digital solutions and brands that inspire, to creating complete communication offerings and performance marketing campaigns. Our cross-channel solutions help innovative brands engage with their buyers, shape public opinion, build lasting influence, create new categories, and accelerate growth and market share.

Behind it all is a group of nerds, rebels and creatives. We’ve been called a Best Place to Work (10 times and counting, to be exact). And we’re growing this Uncommon Crew.

Role Summary

The Senior Public Relations Manager is a vital operational and strategic anchor across our client accounts. In this role, you will keep account momentum moving forward, ensuring deliverables are executed flawlessly on schedule while maintaining the highest standard of strategic quality. Acting as a key bridge between day-to-day execution and high-level account strategy, you will maintain consistent client communication and collaborate seamlessly with PR Managers, PR Associate Directors, PR Directors, and Client Partnership teams. Your focus will be translating agreed-upon quarterly roadmaps and high-level PR strategies into crisp, impactful results. Experience supporting PR clients in healthcare is important for the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Velocity & Deadline Execution: Serve as the day-to-day engine driving accounts forward; establish timelines, clear operational bottlenecks, and track milestones to ensure deliverables meet or beat agreed deadlines.
  • Strategic Quality Assurance: Ensure all tactical outputs—including pitches, press releases, thought leadership, media lists, and briefing sheets consistently align with established PR strategies and client quarterly plans before going out the door.
  • Client Communication & Relationship Management: Act as a responsive, dependable primary day-to-day client contact; facilitate regular status syncs, manage ongoing expectations, and communicate progress, obstacles, and wins with transparency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with PR Associate Directors and PR Directors on account planning, escalation handling, and high-level narrative shaping, while syncing with Client Partnership teams to protect client retention and identify organic account growth.
  • Media Strategy & Campaign Execution: Drive proactive and reactive earned media campaigns, coaching junior team members on effective pitching, narrative development, and reporter relations.
  • Quarterly Plan Alignment: Monitor day-to-day account output against agreed quarterly scopes and KPIs, proactively flagging scope deviations or timing risks to senior leadership.
The Details of the Senior PR Manager
  • Gain a deep understanding of a client’s brand, business and industry.
  • Develop and manage client PR plans and ensure they are aligned to client’s overall objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted PR advisor to the client contact.
  • Play a leading role in creating media storylines and angles that will position the client/client SMEs as a thought leader in the market.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Alloy PR solutions and evolving marketing trends.
  • Be a client and/or industry subject matter expert! SMEs are an important part of driving client outcomes and client retention.
  • Work closely with the PR Manager or PR Associate to lead media outreach initiatives and manage relationships between the business and local, national, and international media.
  • Develop content, storylines, and written materials (such as press releases, media advisories, pitches, bylined articles, internal comms materials, etc.) that are tied to the client’s PR strategy/plan.
  • Execute elements of a client’s PR strategy/plan; as well as guide execution that is done by PR Manager or PR Associate. This may include:
    • Media relations
    • Content development
    • Speaking abstracts/award submissions
    • Influencer relations
Qualifications & Core Competencies
  • Demonstrated Account Management Rigor: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder workstreams, prioritize under tight turnarounds, and maintain relentless forward momentum across multiple client accounts.
  • Prior experience working in an agency environment supporting clients, particularly clients in the healthcare industry.
  • Strategic Alignment & Quality Control: A discerning eye for editorial quality and brand narrative; skilled at evaluating tactical work against overarching PR strategies to ensure every deliverable is client ready.
  • Executive-Ready Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to lead client calls, manage expectations constructively, and provide clear direction internally.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Demonstrated success partnering upward with Associate Directors, Directors, and Client Partnership teams to execute shared goals, while mentoring and guiding junior staff on account mechanics.
