North America Quality Center - PT/EV Senior Engineer
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Hyundai Motor Group North America Quality Center (NAQC), based in S. Korea, oversees all quality issues raised in North America. The NAQC Investigation Team aims to identify quality issues within the North American market, implement corrective actions, and ensure alignment with consumer demands, contributing to the company's success. We are committed to delivering uncompromising quality and customer satisfaction.
We are seeking a PT/EV Senior Engineer at our Chino/Irvine, CA office who will:
- Participate in investigations related to PT/EV field issues, collecting and analyzing data to identify root causes, and sharing findings through technical reports.
- Possess knowledge of Powertrain and EV electronics/components, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including HMG Quality Team, R&D, suppliers, and North American affiliates to plan and execute joint activities.

On a day-to-day basis, the PT/EV Senior Engineer will...
- Lead quality investigations with stakeholders to identify and resolve issues.
- Analyze customer driving patterns to replicate problems.
- Support warranty analysis and provide engineering support throughout vehicle lifecycle.
- Validate software countermeasures and monitor field data for effectiveness.
- Track departmental KPIs to meet targets.
- Identify major PT/EV quality issues and prepare analysis and research reports.
- Research and maintain new technologies and tools for data analysis.
- Benchmark competitor vehicles to assess strengths and weaknesses.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve complex issues.
- Mentor junior engineers.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Candidates should have...
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering or related fields.
- Over 6 years of experience in automotive field investigation or related technical areas, including 3+ years in PT/EV systems.
- Strong knowledge of powertrain and EV system principles.
- Proven experience in engineering projects involving field investigations, testing, validation, research, and benchmarking.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership and collaboration skills, with experience working internationally.
- Knowledge of vehicle communication networks and data acquisition tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, Vector CAN/Ethernet).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
