Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking engineers for protection systems engineering across transmission and distribution facilities. You will develop protection schemes, perform short-circuit and coordination studies, and design relay settings with system automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial or electric utility power systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles in specialty area.
• PM and leadership skills with ability to manage timelines and budgets.
• FERC, NERC, WECC standards and National Electric Codes knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop Protection system schematic designs.
• Conduct short circuit and symmetrical component analysis.
• Perform protection system coordination studies (local and wide area).
• Develop relay settings and protection system automation logic.
• Maintain departmental databases and system models.
• Conduct arc flash analysis.
• Manage integration with SCADA systems.
• Lead and review engineering designs and studies for QA/QC.
