Job summary

RMS Energy seeks a Senior Electrical Project Engineer in Michigan to lead design and execution of electrical power system projects, including new installations, upgrades, and retrofits. You will work with internal teams and external partners to ensure safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-10+ years of experience, with proficiency in SKM, ETAP or EasyPower, and AutoCAD. Travel up to 10% across the continental USA is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is highly preferred.
• 5-10+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, power system engineering, or project engineering roles.
• Experience with power system modeling and analysis tools such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical power systems for substations, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and breakers.
• Develop detailed electrical specifications, drawings, and control schematics for relaying and power distribution.
• Perform system studies including short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis with standard software.
• Develop relay settings for electromechanical and microprocessor relays.
• Review vendor drawings and documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate design deliverables across engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and technical discussions to support project execution.
