Job summary

PSEG Services Corp. in Newark, NJ, is seeking a motivated Engineer to join the PSE&G Planning department. You will develop and propose future distribution and transmission upgrades to maintain reliability.

You will perform interconnection, load-flow, stability, and short circuit studies to evaluate performance. This role uses tools such as PSS/E, TARA, CYME, and ASPEN. You will collaborate across teams, prepare technical reports, and help create load forecasts.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering is required.
  • 6 years of power systems analysis experience.
  • Requires working knowledge of power flow, contingency analysis, and short circuit.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call/emergency support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex power system engineering studies to determine limitations of the transmission and distribution system.
  • Perform engineering analysis using power system tools to assess reinforcements and reliability.
  • Analyze operating limitations and assist in developing operating procedures for system operators.
  • Evaluate the impact of new connections and DERs and propose mitigations.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation summarizing results and plans.
  • Develop and maintain distribution system models, databases, and load forecasts.
