Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Level Power Studies Engineer to direct and execute electrical power studies for mission critical facilities, including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, reliability, and Neher‑McGrath analyses. You will lead a small team and collaborate with clients and design leads to deliver high‑quality studies.

This role requires 8+ years of electrical design experience, SKM proficiency, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of facility electrical design experience, especially with SKM power studies.
• Experience performing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses for large facilities.
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Knowledge of Neher-McGrath thermal studies is a plus.
• Excellent communication with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct and execute electrical power studies while coordinating with clients and design leads.
• Lead other engineers and designers, and coordinate tasks across teams.
• Mentor and train engineers to grow power studies expertise.
• Ensure studies meet design standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Utilize SKM, ETAP, Reliasoft BlockSim and other tools to complete studies.
• Meet project deadlines and travel less than 5% when required.
• Interface with design leads, clients, contractors and equipment manufacturers.
