Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Power System Engineer to support projects in Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse, NY. This hybrid role expects about 10% regional travel and focuses on power system studies, design, startup, maintenance and training.

You will independently manage medium-sized projects, interpret customer requirements, and develop tailored proposals. A PE license and 3+ years in power systems are preferred for applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
• PE license required or pursued; IEEE membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation in power systems studies, power quality analysis, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training.
• Independently manage assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery within budgeted cost estimates and maintaining job cost accountability.
• Interpret customer specifications and inquiries to develop tailored technical proposals and pricing strategies.
• Provide innovative solutions that may include equipment upgrades, system testing, and design enhancements to improve performance and safety.
• Lead and mentor engineers on medium-sized projects, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Conduct and analyze Short-Circuit, LV/MV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies with precision and insight.
