Job summary
Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to oversee the development, execution and delivery of control system projects for power generation and microgrid applications. You will design and implement automation controls, program PLCs/SCADA, simulate and test, and support startup commissioning.
The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with purchasing, ensuring compliance with NFPA/NEC/UL, and driving process improvements to meet project schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or related field required or preferred.
- 5+ years of programming industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs and industrial protocols.
- Experience with 24x7 shop floor software and industrial automation.
- Ability to read schematics and follow design standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design and delivery of control system projects for generator paralleling, switchgear and microgrid applications.
- Develop AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for submittals.
- Create/modify PLC/SCADA programs and HMIs; perform testing and commissioning.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements and standards.
- Ensure designs comply with NFPA, NEC, UL and internal specs.
