Job summary

Wood Mackenzie is seeking a senior consultant to lead complex commercial and strategy mandates across Americas power and renewables markets. You will coach junior colleagues, deliver high-quality analysis, and act as a trusted adviser to senior client teams, including interface up to the C-suite.

Hybrid role based in Houston or Boston with 2–3 days in the office, travel throughout the Americas. Strong background in power/renewables, financial modelling, and client-facing work is required.

Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years of experience leading projects and teams.
• Strong consulting fundamentals: structured problem-solving, analytical rigor, and the ability to turn complex questions into clear, defensible answers.
• Solid grounding in power and/or renewables markets with credibility with clients and ability to lead analysis.
• Experience as a commercial advisor in power/renewables transactions desirable.
• Financial modelling skills and familiarity with power generation asset/market modelling desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to senior audiences with authority.
• Natural coach, committed to developing junior colleagues and raising the standard around them.
• Intellectually curious, client-focused, able to become credible quickly across many subjects.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; Master's or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex commercial and strategy mandates across Americas power and renewables markets.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client teams and interface with analysts through to the C-suite.
• Coach and develop junior colleagues, maintaining high quality standards.
• Build a strong internal network across consulting, research, and sales to bring Wood Mackenzie data and expertise to mandates.
