Job summary

Wood Mackenzie in Boston/Houston offers a hybrid role leading complex commercial and strategy mandates across the Americas power and renewables markets. You will set objectives, guide teams, and ensure delivery on time and to a high standard.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, bringing a commercially grounded view of the energy transition, and mentor junior consultants to grow with the firm.

Qualifications

• Structured problem solving, analytical rigor, and ability to turn complex questions into clear, defensible answers.
• Experience leading projects and teams with strong consulting fundamentals.
• Grounding in power and/or renewables markets with credible client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex commercial and strategy mandates across Americas power and renewables markets: shape the approach, set clear objectives, and steer teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
• Take full accountability for the quality of everything your project teams deliver—rigor of the analysis and clarity of final recommendations—supporting clients with credibility.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client teams, often serving as the commercial advisor on transactions, interfacing across levels from analysts to the C‑suite.
• Serve as the client’s trusted point of contact through each mandate: keep them informed, work through issues, and surface opportunities for further work.
• Develop the next generation of consultants: coach junior colleagues, model strong problem-solving, and take ownership of their growth.
• Bring a current, commercially grounded view of power and renewables markets and apply it across client situations.
• Build and leverage a strong internal network across consulting, research, and sales to bring Wood Mackenzie’s data and expertise to every mandate.
