Job summary

Bright Star Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior Power Platform Specialist to support a Department of State client in Washington, DC. This hybrid role focuses on designing Power BI data models, building automated workflows with Power Automate, and delivering practical Power Platform solutions from evolving requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Power BI data modeling.
• Must have strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Power BI.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Proven background in workflow automation and process optimization.
• Solid grasp of data modeling and analytics principles.
• Ability to independently design and deliver technical solutions from loosely defined requirements.
• U.S. citizenship at the time of hire.
• Active Secret clearance or higher.
• 1–5 years of experience with Power Platform.
• Experience with Power BI and data visualization is preferred.
• Experience with Consular Affairs, immigration data, or U.S. government agencies such as State, USCIS, or USAID is preferred.
• Masters degree or higher is a plus and may count toward additional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI data models and dashboards.
• Develop automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
• Review current business processes and uncover opportunities for automation and improvement.
• Convert operational and business needs into practical Power Platform solutions.
• Troubleshoot, refine, maintain, and document workflows and automation tools.
• Create and support data models and analytics that enable reporting and decision-making.
• Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with security, governance, and best-practice standards.
• Proactively learn new tools, connectors, and techniques to address emerging challenges.
