Job summary

Jobtailor in Arlington, VA seeks a Senior Power Platform Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power BI.

You will model data in Dataverse, implement end‑to‑end automation, manage deployments across Dev, Test and Prod, provide technical leadership, and collaborate with project managers and analysts. U.S. Citizenship and federal government experience is required and active PL-200/400/600 certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software or Power Platform experience.
  • Active Microsoft Power Platform certifications: PL-200, PL-400, PL-600.
  • Experience in federal government projects and U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Strong data modeling, security roles, and ALM practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power Platform solutions.
  • Build and manage Dataverse data models, security, and relationships.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop automated workflows and integrations to improve processes.
  • Create dashboards and analytics for stakeholders.
  • Support full application lifecycle including testing and production support.
  • Lead deployments across Dev, Test, and Production environments.
  • Adhere to security, compliance, and ALM best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership on Power Platform architecture.
  • Collaborate with PMs, BAs, and architects.
  • Prepare deployment documents and operational runbooks.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power BI.
  • Build and manage data models, tables, relationships, business rules, and security within Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Gather, analyze, and refine business requirements, translating them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop automated workflows and integrations that improve business processes and operational efficiency.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support the full application lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Manage solution promotion and deployment across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Implement best practices for security, compliance, performance, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and platform issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, architects, and other technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational support materials.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on Power Platform architecture, development standards, and best practices.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional software development, application development, or Power Platform experience.
  • Hands-on experience building solutions using:
  • Microsoft Power Apps
  • Power Automate
  • Power Pages
  • Power BI
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Dataverse, including data modeling, relationships, security roles, and business rules.
  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end business process automation solutions.
  • Experience managing deployments and solution promotion across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and release management practices within the Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with Microsoft and third-party applications.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and partnering with stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • One or more active Microsoft Power Platform certifications required:
  • PL-200: Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant
  • PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer
  • PL-600: Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect
  • Prior experience supporting federal government clients or programs.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
