Buchanan Technologies is seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade solutions with a strong focus on AI and intelligent automation. Qualifications

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Platform Developer with a strong focus on AI and intelligent automation to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade solutions.

This role is ideal for a hands-on expert who thrives in complex, governed environments and can deliver production-ready applications and AI-driven automations. You will play a key role in architecting secure, scalable solutions while leveraging advanced capabilities such as AI agents and conversational interfaces.

You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, provide technical leadership, and deliver measurable business outcomes aligned with enterprise standards for security, governance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Power Platform Solution Design & Development

• Architect, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale solutions using Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI
• Design reusable components, frameworks, and patterns to ensure scalability and maintainability
• Build advanced workflows and integrations, including error handling, parallel processing, and custom connectors
• Lead solution design reviews and promote best practices across teams
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions using Copilot Studio and Power Platform AI capabilities
• Develop AI agents to support:
  • Conversational automation
  • Intelligent decision support
  • Natural language access to enterprise data
• Implement prompt engineering, orchestration logic, and grounding strategies
• Ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient
• Integrate solutions with Azure services, REST APIs, SQL platforms, and other enterprise systems
• Design and manage robust Dataverse data models, including relationships, business rules, and security roles
• Ensure alignment with enterprise security, compliance, and data governance standards

Governance, ALM & Performance

• Implement and adhere to Power Platform governance and ALM best practices
• Support CI/CD pipelines, environment strategy, and deployment automation
• Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, and platform usage

Technical Leadership

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Power Platform and AI solutions
• Provide mentorship, code reviews, and guidance to developers and stakeholders
• Contribute to Center of Excellence (CoE) standards and documentation
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform
• Deep expertise in:
  • Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven)
  • Power Automate (cloud flows, integrations)
  • Dataverse (data modeling, security, performance)
• Proven experience building AI agents using Copilot Studio or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of:
  • AI integration patterns and prompt engineering
  • Enterprise governance and security practices
  • Application lifecycle management (ALM)
• Experience integrating with Azure services, APIs, and enterprise data platforms
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a consulting environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or operational industries (e.g., energy, manufacturing, utilities)
• Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or custom LLM integrations
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or modern data platforms
• Experience contributing to or leading a Power Platform Center of Excellence
• Background delivering high-volume, mission-critical solutions
