Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Power Platform Architect to lead enterprise solutions across the DOJ ecosystem. You will design secure, scalable canvas/model-driven apps, automate flows, and manage integrations with Dataverse, SharePoint, and Azure services.

You will mentor junior developers, drive ALM processes, and shape platform governance and adoption strategies. Strong leadership and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in information systems and 5+ years designing Power Platform solutions.
  • Education can count as experience in CS/IT or related fields; alternative vocational IT training accepted.
  • Experience with Power Apps Canvas/Model-Driven, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Strong Dataverse data modeling, security roles, and integrations.
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end business solutions using Power Automate cloud flows and APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead enterprise Power Platform solutions with governance and security.
  • Provide tier-3 guidance to developers and customers and mentor juniors.
  • Define UX patterns, connectors, and integration layers across SharePoint, Azure, and SaaS.
  • Lead ALM: environments, solutions, pipelines, and deployments.

Job description

  • Serve as a senior-level authority, architect, and technical leader for the enterprise Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem
  • Deliver expert consultation, design leadership, and platform engineering across DOJ divisions
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced Power Platform solutions, including canvas/model-driven apps, automated flows, multi-stage processes, Power Pages, Dataverse, and AI Copilot
  • Lead requirements analysis and translate complex needs into secure, scalable, user-centered applications
  • Define enterprise-grade UX patterns, connectors, custom APIs, and integration layers
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support and guidance to junior developers and customers
  • Ensure operational reliability, performance, governance, and compliance across the Power Platform
  • Monitor capacity, environments, connectors, licensing, run histories, DLP policies, and environment-level controls
  • Enforce naming conventions, data classification, security roles, and lifecycle retention
  • Architect secure integrations with SharePoint Online, Azure services, SQL, SaaS, DOJ data platforms, and external systems
  • Lead application lifecycle management through managed/unmanaged solutions, Dev/Test/Prod pipelines, GitHub/Azure DevOps automation, and standardized deployments
  • Run proofs of concept and evaluate Microsoft platform capability updates
  • Research and recommend platform-wide improvements, enterprise patterns, plugins, governance changes, and adoption strategies
  • Create roadmaps for app modernization, workflow automation, low-code maturity, and cross-agency collaboration
  • Develop architectural reviews, business cases, and impact analyses
  • Contribute to statewide and DOJ architecture forums
  • Lead planning for major releases, security updates, change windows, operational readiness, and customer-experience improvements
  • Mentor junior developers and advise management on roadmap decisions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience in information systems
  • Education counted as experience when the degree is in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or when a two-year accredited vocational training program in information technology or a related field was completed
  • Associate’s degree or two-year vocational training equals two years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree equals four years of experience
  • Master’s degree equals six years of experience
  • 5+ years of comprehensive knowledge and experience designing, developing, and supporting Microsoft Power Platform solutions
  • Experience with Power Apps Canvas and Model-Driven, Power Automate, and Power BI
  • Strong experience with Dataverse, including data modeling, security roles, business rules, and integrations
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end business solutions using Power Automate cloud flows, approvals, and integrations
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure services, and external systems via APIs/connectors
  • Must pass a comprehensive employment reference check
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check
  • Must agree to comply with DOJ security and confidentiality requirements
  • Solid understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, including environments, solutions, versioning, and deployment pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT teams
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership
