Job summary

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Power Plant Operator Level 3 in Palmdale, CA to operate and monitor central plant equipment, including chillers, boilers, cooling systems, air compressors, and utility distribution.

This role requires ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and emergencies; you must obtain required licenses within 12 months and support regulatory compliance while maintaining logs and coordinating with Facilities and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 4+ years in plant ops.
• Ability to obtain D2 and T1 licenses within 12 months.
• Experience with chillers, boilers, air compressors, water systems.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical/process control drawings.
• Willing to work rotating shifts and emergencies; ability to obtain US Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor central plant equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling, pumps).
• Perform rounds, inspections, and equipment readings.
• Monitor and respond to Building Management System alarms.
• Support water treatment and distribution operations and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs and records; coordinate with multiple teams.
