Job summary
St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Boiler Operator to manage three stationary boilers and related systems at Warren Hospital. The role focuses on safe, reliable operation, log maintenance and preventive tasks to support patient care facilities.
You will monitor, test and adjust boiler performance under the Chief Engineer, perform emergency tests, and ensure compliance with NJ codes. The position requires a high school diploma, a NJ Black Seal Fireman license and 2 years of boiler
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Must possess a minimum of a high pressure Black Seal Fireman’s license from the State of New Jersey.
- Two years experience in the safe operation of high‑pressure boilers preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers and support systems ensuring safe, efficient operation.
- Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, repairs and safety activities.
- Test boiler water quality and take corrective action as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Troubleshoot problems, adjust fuel and air supply, and monitor alarms and gauges.
- Perform weekly generator no-load tests and fire pump tests, reporting issues promptly.
