Job summary

Framingham State University is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer (Second Class Power Plant Engineer) to operate, maintain, and repair high-pressure boilers and related equipment. The role supports safety, efficiency, and reliability of the campus power plant, under the Director of Boiler Plant and Utility Operations.

• Knowledge of operation of industrial heating systems.
• Understanding of pneumatics as applied to HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with electrical fundamentals for power plant operation.
• Ability to calibrate and adjust pneumatic control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair boilers and auxiliary equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safe, efficient plant operation.
• Inspect machinery and monitor safety controls and emissions.
