Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Power Module Product Design Engineer to own inverter power modules and their integration into inverter assemblies from concept through production. You will define mechanical requirements, create 3D models and drawings, and verify interfaces including thermal and electrical aspects.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 7+ years in semiconductor power modules, with strong design and problem-solving skills. Hybrid work with onsite days is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years semiconductor experience in power modules.
• Strong fundamentals and engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own inverter power modules and integration into inverter assemblies from concept through production.
• Define mechanical requirements, create 3D models and 2D drawings, and specify processes.
• Design, analyze, and verify interfaces, solder joints, laser welds, thermal interfaces, and seals.
• Assess thermal performance with heat sinks and power modules.
• Lead AQG-324 reliability campaigns and develop lifetime models.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal manufacturing on design for production.
• Develop manufacturing processes including DOEs and process validation.
