Job summary

Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) seeks a Project Engineer at our Glen Allen, VA home office. The role supports combustion turbine power plant, transmission, and diesel operations through planning, budgeting, and project execution.

You will coordinate with engineering consultants, manage schedules, and present technical recommendations to operations. Travel is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12+ years experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Apply knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical standards, codes, and industry practices.
• Demonstrate knowledge of power plant equipment, protective relays, data acquisition systems, and communications equipment.
• Review and revise engineering designs and drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end engineering efforts for capital improvement and maintenance projects.
• Coordinate budget, schedule, and contractor activities on project execution.
• Organize site meetings with consultants and operations personnel.
• Review technical recommendations and prepare reports for operations.
• Manage RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contractor selections.
• Ensure turnover packages are complete with BOMs, redlines, and vendor manuals.
• Develop project scopes of work and preliminary schedules.
• Maintain compliance with Records Management standards.
