Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team in Tysons, VA.

You will develop, integrate, and deliver project engineering documents, including diagrams, specifications, and commissioning scripts, spanning power, control systems, and IT infrastructure. The role requires strong knowledge of codes (NFPA 70/70E, IBC/IEC), MV design, and the ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with design and construction teams.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• 5+ years of Power/Electrical Engineering experience.
• 5+ years of MV Substation and Distribution Design.
• 5+ years of UPS system design.
• Experience in mission critical datacenter design and/or industrial power design.
• Demonstrate time management and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction documents from utilization voltage to low voltage, including equipment layout and wiring diagrams.
• Size and select switchgear, transformers, generators; plan grounding and feeders.
• Perform voltage drop calculations and raceway/cable tray fill assessments.
• Mentor Level I/II staff and lead project teams on small to mid-size projects.
