Job summary

RTX is seeking an electrical engineer for the Airborne Antenna Department in McKinney, TX to design and validate power, distribution, and control systems for defense applications. The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, robust design, and collaboration across engineering teams onsite.

The candidate will tackle power electronics, system simulations, and reliable hardware development in a DoD context, with relocation consideration and a strong emphasis on security clearance and DoD processes.

Qualifications

Typical requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following:
Experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systems
Experience in modeling and simulation using LTSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools

Responsibilities

Broad range role in support of critical production processes.
Responsible for second-level troubleshooting of Production Test Equipment and Deliverable Hardware issues, after escalation from Engineering Technicians
Monitoring test station health through test data analysis; addressing failure trends at test
Root cause analysis & corrective action.
Work closely with a team of engineers to develop proven designs based on system performance and operational specifications.
May also support a team in the design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power system, conversion, distribution, or control systems products.
Perform design work within the bounds of a given budget and schedule.
Present reviews of technical data to senior program or executive leadership, technical staff, and customer community. Manage related risk discussions.
Lead teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical execution
Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers.Help to understand what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical front.
