Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design of power electronics for a nuclear-driven high‑speed generator. You will own design, analysis, simulation, and component selection, collaborating with top engineers, vendors, and partner orgs to bring the first nuclear microreactor to market.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years in HV power electronics, and expertise with HV semiconductors, PWM, EMI/EMC, and embedded C/C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in power electronics.
• 6+ years of design experience designing high voltage and high-power electronics.
• Expert with HV power semiconductor selection and gate driver design.
• Strong HV (≥800V) power electronics experience incl. inverters and DC/DC.
• Understanding of PWM switching techniques and EMC/EMI strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design power electronic systems to convert AC/DC sources to stable grid voltages and frequencies.
• Own active rectifiers, inverters, and DC/DC converters.
• Apply EMI/EMC filtering and grounding/isolation strategies.
• Model and validate gate drivers, power stages, and magnetics.
• Run inverter simulations and lead the build of a working inverter.
• Perform circuit analysis including de-rating and worst-case studies.
• Optimize loss and thermal performance of the inverter.
