Job summary

GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to own large‑scale power converter designs, analyses, and validation. You will drive system specifications, component selection, and testing while coordinating with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to meet SQDC targets and customer requirements.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, real‑time modeling, and robust validation, with extensive exposure to high‑power electronics and power system integration

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Power Electronics with 6+ years in power electronics/conversion.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies (IGBT, SiC, GaN, thyristor).
• 3+ years design/build of test benches for power systems and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• System Specification and Architecture: review customer requirements for large power converters and identify gaps.
• Power Electronics Design: lead high‑power converter development including components, magnetics, and reliability.
• System Modeling & Simulation: perform MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice studies to validate topologies.
• Power Systems Integration: analyze grid interaction, stability, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Hardware Validation & Debugging: hands‑on lab work, test plans, prototype evaluation and fault analysis.
• Project Leadership: lead design reviews, guide cross‑functional teams, and manage customer engagements.
• Compliance & Reliability: ensure safety/regulatory compliance; perform DFMEA and reliability assessments.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: partner with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and procurement.
• Customer Focus: ensure timely delivery and high‑quality engineering solutions.
