Job summary

Enphase Energy, Inc. seeks a power electronics engineer to advance the SST platform. You will design power conversion circuits and magnetics, integrate GaN devices, and translate models into bench prototypes for high-density, efficient power modules.

You’ll work with mechanical/thermal teams to optimize packaging and cooling, lead design iterations, and mentor junior engineers. This role is based in Petaluma, CA with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in electronics hardware/system design, per role.
• Hands-on with schematic capture, layout and testing of power electronics.
• Experience with ECAD tools (OrCAD, KiCad, or Altium).
• Ability to translate models to bench performance and reconcile theory vs. practice.
• Familiarity with planar transformers and advanced power devices.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration with mechanical/thermal teams and controls.
• Strong autonomous execution with mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop power conversion circuits and magnetics for SST platform.
• Evaluate GaN devices and planar magnetics to boost throughput and reduce size.
• Convert modeling results into benchtop prototypes and close gaps with measurements.
• Balance power density, efficiency, thermal, and cost per watt to meet targets.
• Co-design packaging, cooling, and power density with mechanical/thermal teams.
• Lead root-cause analysis and iterative design improvements from test data.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and participate in design reviews.
