Job summary

Lunar Energy seeks a senior power electronics engineer to drive design of high-density power converters (10W–10kW), select optimal topologies, and own the power conversion system from spec through manufacturing. You will collaborate across mechanical, thermal, reliability and firmware teams to optimize performance and validate critical characteristics.

Qualifications include a BS in EE with 5+ years in power electronics; advanced degrees preferred.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in power electronics; advanced degrees preferred.
Understanding of active/passive losses and loss mitigation.
Experience with high efficiency, high density converters and wide bandgap devices.
Familiarity with two-level, multi-level, soft switching topologies.
Knowledge of sensor design to measure converter parameters in real time.
Magnetics design, core materials, winding structures and insulation strategies.
EMC theory applied to PCB layout and filter design.
Ability to design schematics and layout for power conversion.
Strong lab skills with oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, and high-voltage testing.

Responsibilities

Own power conversion system from specification to manufacturing.
Design power electronic hardware and select topologies for the application.
Develop verification and test plans for components and system.
Bring up and test systems to validate function, performance, and characteristics.
Collaborate across mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware teams.
