Round-Peg Solutions (RPS) Limited is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design and test high-power aerospace converters. You will own the hardware from requirements through validation, working closely with engineers to deliver 10kW–100kW systems.
The role emphasizes hands-on bench work, power magnetics, 270–800V DC designs, and EMI/DO-160 qualification readiness. On-site in Setauket, NY, with opportunity for growing ownership as the product line evolves.

Design it. Build it. Power it up. Prove it works.
Are you a Power Electronics Engineer who has personally designed, built and tested high-power converters? Do you enjoy working across converter topology, magnetics, control loops and real hardware rather than owning one narrow piece of a design? Would you like to develop 10kW–100kW power electronics for next-generation aerospace applications? If so, this opportunity may be the right next step for you.
This growing aerospace and defense organisation develops mission-critical electrical and power hardware for demanding environments. Engineers work close to the product, taking ownership from initial requirements and architecture through detailed design, prototype bring-up, testing and qualification.
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will develop aerospace power converters operating below 1kV, with particular focus on 10kW–100kW systems, PFC circuits and DC-DC converters.
As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer your responsibilities will include
As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will bring
Experience with EMI filter design, conducted emissions testing, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, RTCA DO-160, PLECS, LTspice or Ansys Maxwell would be particularly valuable.
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will have genuine ownership of the hardware. You won't simply simulate a converter and hand the design elsewhere; you'll have the opportunity to see your work through schematic, PCB, magnetics, prototype, bring-up, test and validation.
This is particularly attractive for an engineer who enjoys being close to the bench and wants to solve challenging problems involving high power density, efficiency, switching technology, EMI and aerospace reliability.
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will join a highly technical team developing the next generation of aerospace power hardware, with the opportunity to take increasing technical ownership as the organisation continues to grow.
All successful applicants will be contacted within two working days.
