Are you a Power Electronics Engineer with experience developing high-voltage power supplies? Have you worked with systems operating at 50kV+ and want to tackle more technically challenging power conversion problems? Would you like to see your designs move quickly from the bench into next-generation aerospace and defense hardware? If so, this opportunity may be the right next step for you.

This rapidly growing aerospace and defense organisation develops advanced power and electrical hardware for demanding applications. Engineers work in small teams, remain close to the hardware and have the freedom to take ideas from first principles through prototype, testing and ultimately production.

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will develop high-voltage power supplies and power conversion hardware, with particular interest in engineers who have worked at 50kV and above.

As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer your responsibilities will include

• Designing and developing high-voltage power supplies, power conversion circuits and associated electronics
• Evaluating converter topologies, switching approaches and control strategies for challenging power requirements
• Developing and integrating transformers, magnetics, inductors and high-voltage components
• Solving real-world challenges involving isolation, insulation, thermal performance, corona and high-voltage reliability
• Taking designs from simulation and schematic through prototype, bench testing, debugging and hardware qualification

As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will bring

• Hands-on experience designing high-voltage power supplies or power conversion hardware, ideally at 50kV+
• Strong fundamentals in power electronics, switching power supplies and converter topologies
• Experience developing transformers, magnetics or other high-voltage power components
• Practical experience with hardware bring-up, testing, troubleshooting and design iteration
• A background developing complex electrical hardware within aerospace, space, defense, medical, semiconductor, scientific or industrial applications

ou do not need previous aerospace experience. Engineers developing high-voltage technology for X-ray systems, medical equipment, semiconductor equipment, radar, lasers, scientific instrumentation, industrial power and other demanding applications are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will have significant freedom to influence architecture and solve problems rather than simply maintaining established designs. You'll work directly with other electrical, mechanical, test and manufacturing engineers and remain close to the hardware throughout development.

This is particularly suited to an engineer who enjoys the combination of deep technical problem-solving and hands-on development and wants greater ownership without moving away from engineering.

Alongside $170,000–$250,000 base salary, meaningful pre-IPO equity and comprehensive benefits, the Senior Power Electronics Engineer will have the opportunity to help establish a growing high-voltage capability and develop hardware from the ground up.
