Heron Power Inc. is seeking a power electronics controls engineer to drive dynamic modeling, controller design, implementation, and validation for advanced power converters.

You will collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to translate algorithms from Simulink into embedded C code and validate designs with HiL setups. You'll analyze system requirements, evaluate converter topologies, and ensure compliance with grid-codes (IEEE 2800, UL1741) and protection schemes while contributing to

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and knowledge of power conversion topologies.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot C-code for embedded controllers.
• Hands-on circuit troubleshooting experience and lab exposure.
• Familiarity with grid codes and protection techniques is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Model dynamic performance and design controllers for power converters.
• Analyze and compare converter topologies with hardware team; evaluate trade-offs.
• Design controller architectures to meet dynamic objectives.
• Perform FMEA to identify design weaknesses and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes and protection schemes.
• Translate algorithms from Simulink to embedded C code.
• Create and use HiL setups for validation.
• Prototype bring-up and validation with hardware team.
• Develop stress-test plans for reliability and thermal performance.
