Job summary
Wabtec Corporation seeks a Senior Power Systems & Controls Engineer to shape the technical roadmap for next-generation power electronics and control architectures. You will lead cross-functional teams across locomotive and mining platforms to deliver innovative, production-ready propulsion and energy systems.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Ph.D. preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in power electronics, controls, or electrified transportation systems.
- Expert knowledge of high-power inverter and converter design, including closed-loop control systems and electric drive systems.
- Deep understanding of silicon and silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors and system integration.
- Ability to translate system-level requirements into conceptual designs, prototypes and production-ready solutions.
- Experience analyzing complex electromechanical systems including harmonics, ground currents, and transient performance.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy and future vision for power electronics and controls systems across locomotive and mining platforms.
- Lead the development of inverter, converter, and battery-electric powertrain technologies from concept to production.
- Design, develop, and validate high-power inverter/converter architectures, including liquid-cooled systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, sourcing, manufacturing, and field service to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Define system and subsystem requirements and provide technical leadership for power electronics components and embedded software interfaces.
- Perform system modeling, simulation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop validation; support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive future product innovation and commercialization.
- Mentor and coach engineering teams to ensure technical quality and timely execution.
