Job description

SEnergy is seeking a proactive, assertive, and analytical Senior Power Electrical Engineer who is a technical expert, loves building processes, and is passionate about developing the next generation of engineers.

The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in Distribution Engineering within the power industry.

The position is located at our Boerne office and may require some overnight travel to project sites.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Coach, train, and develop the team, including conflict resolution, to meet client outcomes.
  2. Represent SEnergy and clients in meetings with stakeholders, property owners, other engineering firms, or construction services.
  3. Prepare accurate and timely proposals for clients, ensuring correct pricing and maintaining margins; review risks with the Division Manager; present proposals as needed.
  4. Lead projects from start to finish, including drawing preparation, visual aids, staking sheets, line calculations, engineering studies, permit applications, material testing, CADD work, research, review, and editing specifications; assist with scheduling and budgeting.
  5. Review, approve, and seal documents; prepare project close-out documents.
  6. Interpret codes and standards, ensuring compliance.
  7. Maintain quality control over projects, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of documents and drawings.
  8. Develop timelines, assign tasks, and manage project progress, communicating delays proactively to mitigate risks.
  9. Innovate by developing new techniques or improving processes, materials, or products.
  10. Review operational procedures for policy and performance compliance.
  11. Serve as a technical specialist on advanced concepts and methods.
  12. Stay informed on industry developments and propose changes for business continuity.
  13. Resolve technical conflicts within the team.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • PE Certification and 5+ years of experience in Distribution Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Skills:
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to listen, hear, see clearly, sit, stand, walk, and use hands and arms.
