Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Senior Power Construction Inspector to observe and document electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil construction, ensuring safety and compliance on heavy industrial projects in the United States.

You will monitor progress and coordinate material testing while maintaining accurate records. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus an electrical apprenticeship or Master Electrician license and 5–10 years of related experience; NEC/SCADA familiarity and strong

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; electrical apprenticeship or Master Electrician pathway.
  • Minimum 10 years journey-level electrical experience or 5 years at Master Electrician level in heavy industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of NEC and SCADA environments; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilities
  • Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil
  • Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
  • Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders and performing in-place soil compaction testing
  • Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
  • Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Senior Power Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:
  • Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school or Associate degree
  • Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Completion of a recognized five-year electrical apprenticeship program and submission of an apprenticeship certificate, and a minimum of 10 years journey level experience, or possession of a State Master Electrician license and 5 years experience at that level,
  • Sufficient journey/master level electrical construction and/or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, with emphasis on work on 120V-480V systems and familiarity with high voltage( 480- 21,000 volts) systems
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other appropriate electrical standards and specifications
  • Experience with supervisor control and data acquisition systems (SCADA)
  • Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
