Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Power Construction Inspector to join our team and help shape critical power infrastructure projects. You will conduct inspections of electrical, mechanical/HVAC, and site civil aspects while documenting observations and progress on complex construction sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized five-year electrical apprenticeship program and submission of an apprenticeship certificate, and a minimum of 10 years journey level experience, or possession of a State Master Electrician license and 5 years experience at that level.
• Sufficient journey/master level electrical construction and/or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, with emphasis on work on 120V-480V systems and familiarity with high voltage (480-21,000 volts) systems.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other electrical standards and specifications.
• Experience with supervisor control and data acquisition systems (SCADA).
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilities.
• Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil.
• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders and performing in-place soil compaction testing.
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Senior Power Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:

• Ability to interpret construction schedules

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Completion of a recognized five-year electrical apprenticeship program and submission of an apprenticeship certificate, and a minimum of 10 years journey level experience, or possession of a State Master Electrician license and 5 years experience at that level,
• Sufficient journey/master level electrical construction and/or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, with emphasis on work on 120V-480V systems and familiarity with high voltage( 480- 21,000 volts) systems
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other appropriate electrical standards and specifications
• Experience with supervisor control and data acquisition systems (SCADA)
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
