Job summary

Amphenol Corporation, through its Amphenol Power Solutions division, seeks a Staff Engineer to lead product development for power connectors and cable assemblies. You will drive design reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with global teams on performance, cost, and manufacturability.

The role emphasizes technical leadership across the product lifecycle, with responsibility for DFMEA, validation, and successful launches in a global context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of mechanical design and product development experience in electrical components, connector systems, or cable assemblies.
• Strong expertise in power connector design, including contact systems, sealing, and strain relief.
• Solid experience with 3D CAD (Creo), GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Proficient with FEA software (Ansys/Workbench) for mechanical simulation.
• Proven leadership with cross-functional influence across engineering, manufacturing and customers.
• Excellent written and verbal English in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Six Sigma / DFSS knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Drive cost reduction through design, materials optimization, and manufacturing improvements.
• Introduce and champion new technologies and design techniques.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship across the development lifecycle.
• Lead training programs in power connector design and applications.
• Capture lessons-learned and implement best practices.
